TRAVEL INSURANCE
Proof of travel insurance is mandatory before starting the trek. Standard policies often only cover medical evacuation to 4000m, so make sure the policy you get covers up to 6000m. We usually suggest World Nomads which costs around $125. You only need to be covered on the policy for the days you will actually be trekking.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival, our representative will meet you and you’ll be transferred to the Hotel. Enjoy the day at leisure. You can go around town and self-explore. Kings Way (Durbar Marg) for shopping and dinner. Good restaurants are located out here. Overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu
Day 2: Kathmandu Full day Sightseeing (Kathmandu/ Swayambhu/ Patan) (B)
After breakfast, you’ll start you tour visiting Swayambhu temple, which is said to be a 2000 years old stupa on a hillock that offers a breathtaking view of Kathmandu city. You will then proceed to visit Kathmandu city and its ancient durbar Square which is full of Historical monuments and temples. After lunch you’ll visit Patan city, which is the oldest of the three major cities in Kathmandu valley- famous for its buddhists monuments and Hindu temples and you can catch a glimpse of the traditional artisan working with wood, stone and metals. Day 3: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu (Boudhhanath/Pashupati/Bhaktapur) (B)
Today you will visit Pashupatinath temple, Nepal’s holiest hindu shrine and Boudhanath stupa (Buddhist Shrine) also known as little Tibet. Then you’ll proceed to visit the second largest of the three major cities in Kathmandu valley known as Bhaktapur formerly called ‘Bhad Gaon’ and is famed as a traditional craft centre. Day 4: Kathmandu to Chitwan (B/L/D)
After breakfast you’ll be driven to Chitwan from Kathmandu. Approximately, 6-7 hrs scenic drive. Upon arrival in Chitwan you will check in to a resort. After Lunch you’ll start some of your activities. Dinner and overnight at the resort
Day 5: Chitwan National Park(B/L/D)
The Royal Chitwan national park (960 sq. kms.) formerly a royal hunting reserve lies in the lowland of tarai region of southern Nepal. Today you will be visiting the Tharu Vilages, thereafter followed by elephant safari through the jungle and a canoe ride on Rapti river viewing the crocodiles and different birds on the river bank. In the evening you will enjoy the Tharu cultural program. Chitwan literally means “Heart of the Jungle”. Enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Natural) in 1984, the park spreads over an area of 932 sq. km. The park is home to 56 species of mammals, 49 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 525 species of birds. Wildlife found here include endangered species like the one-horned rhinoceros and the Royal Bengal tiger, gaur, wild elephant, four-horned antelope, leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, rhesus monkey, grey langur monkey, wild dog, small wild cats, and many other smaller animals. Day 6 : Chitwan/ Pokhara (B)
After breakfast, depart in the morning via AC vehicle to Pokhara. This Lakeside city offers a front view to one of the most beautiful Himalayan panoramas in the world. The Annapurna and the famous “Fishtail” mountain peak of Machhapuchhre tower over the tropical setting of Pokhara.
Day 7: Sarangkot with Full day Sightseeing in Pokhara (B)
Today you will be picked up early from the hotel to see the magnificient sunrise from Sarangkot. After this you will be taken back to the hotel for breakfast. Followed by full day sightseeing in Pokhara visiting the Seti Gorge, “patale Chango” known as the Davids Fall and Bindyabashini Temple followed by boating in Fewa lake including the World Peace Stupa. Day 8 – Day 13: TREKKING DAYS Pokhara to Ghorepani/Poon Hill to Natural Hot springs to Pokhara(B/L/D)
After Breakfast drive to Nayapul from Pokhara (45 KM/ 1 Hour 20 Min Drive).Your seven-days trek through the Annapurna mountain range starts today from Nayapul (1070m). From here you will cover villages like Tikhedhunga (1500m), Ghorepani, Poon-hill (highest point of trek of 3120m), Ghandruk, Tadapani, Tolka and Dhampus. The path with uneven steps takes you through small villages and rice fields and passes through refreshing waterfalls. You stay in a basic lodge and vegetarian meals will be provided.
The trail runs through the jungle of the Himalayas. Ghorepani is located at an altitude of 2850m and is surrounded by white snow peaks. With a little luck in Poon hill you will see today, an unforgettable sunrise. For this, early morning wake up at 5 am (approx.) (good headlamp is recommended) and hike to the highest point of the trek at 3210m altitude, Poon Hill. Poon Hill has the best view of all the surrounding mountains, mostly eight-thousanders! The sun rises slowly, the sky turns red, pink and illuminates the snowy peaks.
Many steps will take you to the end and you will reach Natural hot springs where you will spend the night after taking a dip in the hot springs which will relax your muscles after the long trek. The next day drive back to pokhara. Upon arrival in Pokhara you will be transferred to a hotel where you can relax at leisure or go out for souvenir shopping. (Guided Trek)
Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu to Nagarkot (B/D)
Early morning departure from Pokhara to Kathmandu Via flight (30mins). Then from Kathmandu airport drive straight to Nagarkot.
Nagarkot is a hill station in the north-east hills surrounding Kathmandu valley. The sunrise and the mountain view from here is breathtaking in the mornings. Overnight stay in Nagarkot.
Day 16 – Day 17: Nagarkot to Kodari (Last Resort) Adventure sports begins (B/L/D)
After sunrise and breakfast in Nagarkot you will drive (3-4 hrs) to Kodari (Last Resort) reaching around 11am. There are a lot of activities you can do here. White water rafting, bungee jump, swing jump, canyoning etc. You can choose what activities you want to do during the two days you stay there. Therefore, the activities haven’t been included in the quotation that has been provided**. Only two nights stay on a full board basis. You can choose what adventure sports you want to do and pay then and there, just in case there are sports you don’t want to do. The activities normally finishes around 2-3pm. Then you have the rest of the day to relax and chill in the calm ambience the place provides.
Day 18: Kodari (Last Resort) to Kathmandu
You will be driven back to Kathmandu after breakfast and checked into the hotel. You have the full day to yourself (like you asked for) before you leave for home. You can use the day to shop for souvenirs for your family back home.
Day 19: Departure
After breakfast you will be dropped off at the airport.
The following are what we advise you to have these equipment and gear before trekking in Nepal, and are meant to keep you mobile and comfortable in a range of expected weather conditions. Trekking gear can be rented or purchased in Kathmandu at cheaper prices, remember Nepal is the home of Mount Everest, there is plenty of choice and our staff can assist you with the necessary arrangements. Except for your day pack, all luggages will be carried by porters. There is an allowance of 33lbs/15kg per person. Additional personal items not needed for the trekking portion of the trip can be checked in the hotel’s storage room for no extra cost.
